FAQ:
Q: How many images are typically in an Heirloom Album?
A: Every Album varies. Typically I request between 60-75 “must have” images to begin the design. 12x12 Albums will normally include between 85-100 images. The number of images included heavily relies on the design and layout of the Album itself! If we decide to have more larger “featured” images, there is less room available on the page. As you’ll see in the sample designs above, it all balances out to use the space accordingly as some spreads call for more images, while others call for less.
Q: When is the best time to invest in an Album?
A: I recommend investing in an Album within 6 - 9 months of your wedding or 1 - 3 months of your session. The images and memories are still fresh in your mind, and allow you some more clarity in choosing your favourites to be part of the process. Online wedding galleries are active for 1 year following your wedding and will allow for seamless edits and image swaps in the process.
Q: How does the investment work?
A: Upon choosing your Album size, a deposit of 50% of your final invoice is due to begin the design process. After completing the design, cover and text options, the remaining 50% of your invoice is due before your Album is sent to print.
Q: Can we have a say in the design process?
A: Absolutely! Asking for your favourite images before I begin allows us to jump off on the right foot! With many (if not all) of your favourite images in the album, the minor tweaks of “can we make this one bigger”, or “can we swap this image for this one” a total breeze in editing stage. On average, there are 1-3 rounds of revisions in the process and there is a minor additional editing fee if album design goes beyond 5 versions. The process is absolutely collaborative and always leaves you so excited with the final product!
Q: How long does the process take?
A: Typically your Heirloom Album is designed within 1 week of receiving you favourite images and the 50% deposit. I always tell clients that I can work as quickly as you can. Once you have a chance to send your edits back to me, a new design is ready within a week to repeat the process. Once all items are finalized and the balance is paid, your Heirloom Album arrives to the studio within 6-8 weeks and is promptly mailed off to it’s forever home.
