Modern Wedding at Liuna Station
One benefit to having a little bit more time this summer is getting the chance to fully re-live a few more wedding days from last season. Even though it’s been a full year since Alex + Mike tied the knot, it honestly still feels like yesterday.
From all the small moments with their parents and grandparents, to the big laughs with their closest friends and siblings, there were so many memorable parts of this celebration that took us all around the city. Alex + Mike said their “I do’s” at the gorgeous Ancaster Mill Chapel before we popped down to The Cotton Factory for a little bit of an urban vibe during their portraits. We met up with all of their favourite people at Liuna Station where everyone was ready to celebrate properly.
While the speeches are usually my favourite part of a reception, Alex + her Dad shared their first dance with an added surprise for everyone in attendance - and it definitely stole the show (although the speeches were pretty epic, too). Playing in the background of the dance floor was an old home video of Alex + her sister swept up in their Dad’s arms, dancing around the living room when they were little. (Cue the watery eyes…). It was one of the sweetest touches I’ve seen, and adding it in as a surprise made it all the better.
We snuck out for sunset, and the dance floor was packed for the rest of the evening - just as it should be.
Let’s wish these two a very happy first anniversary + scroll through a few favourite moments with me!
Re-live their day one more time, below. An incredible wedding film by my pal, Brandon DiLuca.
