Inside my Camera Bag
If you’ve ever been interested those must have items in my camera bag, this post is for you! Take a peek into what I use regularly (and what I can’t live without) during any wedding day or session.
First off, in my main bag – the one that’s around my shoulder pretty much the whole day:
1. Camera Body
a. Canon 5DMark III – I use one and have the other tucked into my bag as a backup – just in case!
2. Lenses
Canon 50mm L 1.2 – My favourite lens, the one I find the most versatile, and the one that is on my camera the majority of the time!
Canon 85mm L 1.2 – For a different look, or to get just a wee bit closer! I love having this lens on my second camera body to quickly get variety through ceremonies.
Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 – For tight spaces and all those wider shots you know I can’t get enough of.
3. Lighting
Canon 600EX Speedlight – I always have one in my bag for that extra light when I need it! The others are in my second bag to pull from when I need them!
4. Misc. Items
Batteries – For both my Camera + my Speedlights!
Memory Cards – More than I’d ever need for one day.
Prism + Modifiers – For those unique shots with a little more creativity!
GoPro – I bring this along for those moments I want some behind the scenes. Coupled with a little adapter for my hot-shoe does just the trick!
In addition to that main bag, I have a couple of others that are filled with some extra lenses, more backups equipment, and other things I’ll need for a few other parts of the day! (Only some of which is photographed above!)
5. Tripod, Unipod + Light Stands – I bring along when needed in this awesome sling-bag that holds them perfectly and doesn’t take up too much space!
6. Lighting
4 Additional Canon 600EX Speedlights to help light receptions + other indoor spaces when needed!
LED lights – Perfectly portable and super quick for those night shots!
7. Lenses - Along with the lenses I use most frequently, my second bag holds onto a few extras and some backups as well! The ones I pull from most often are:
Canon 70-200mm L 2.8 – A perfect lens to help me get closer when my feet can’t take me there! Most commonly used during the reception or ceremony of a big day!
Canon 100mm Macro 2.8 – For all those details, and a different look to portraits.
Canon 24-105mm L 4.0 – When the 35 can’t get wide enough for me!
8. Batteries + Chargers
A few extras for later on in the day + a couple chargers for a refresh when needed!
9. Notes, snacks, emergency kit + some water! To always stay prepped for anything coming my way!
Thanks for taking a tour through my camera bag and some of the things I use to help tell a piece of your story! I’d love to hear from you if you have any questions!
