Misia + Tom | Carefree At Home Couples Session

My favourite part about documenting another chapter for Misia + Tom was that this was a chapter some might not think to stop and document.

I last had these two in front of my camera on NYE 2016. It’s very hard to believe that so much time has passed since then, but we’ve kept in touch with Misia coming to model for the class I teach, and from watching her grow her own business (Marzipan Bake Co.) from the sidelines. I was so excited as they naturally fell right back into the swing of things as soon as my shutter clicked for the first time that afternoon at their home.

When Misia reached out to me about this session, I couldn’t have been more excited to tell another chapter of their story … especially one that they spent so much time on and were so proud of. They finished renovating their home and had just sold it - and they wanted to do a session to celebrate before moving on to their next house!

A home is a special place for so many reasons. Not only does it represent your style and taste from an aesthetic point of view, but it also holds all the memories you made while you were there. These images would provide a perfect opportunity for them to look back and treasure all of that. The transformation their home took was nothing short of amazing… and I honestly would be the first viewer if these two were to ever have their own show on HGTV. I basically wanted the entire design for myself.

So, what did I suggest we do for the session? What they would normally do. We hung out, put on some music, cracked open a couple of drinks and celebrated all the hard work + love that went into making this space theirs. Oh, and we watched Misia work her magic in the kitchen too (with a little help from Tom).
