Liam | Minimalist At Home Newborn Session
After my “Year in Review” and looking back through all the 2019 collections it made me realize how much I still have to share here on the blog. The good news it that I’m making an effort to catch up, starting today!
In combination with a few of my favourite images of little Liam + his awesome parents… I wanted to share a couple of reason why I LOVE at-home newborn sessions:
They’re cozy.
Usually I photograph newborns in the first few weeks of their life. Whether they are the first baby in the family or just the newest member, it’s always so warm and cozy snuggling up with your little one(s) in the comfort of your own home as a family. It’s a space you snuggle up in your regular day-to-day lives so it only adds to the comfort of the images - it’s a win-win!
2. They’re personal.
Inviting me into your space automatically makes this session more personal as the backdrop to all of your images perfectly fits into your story - because it’s all been chosen by you. It also acts as a time capsule for the ever changing decor and perhaps home itself as your family continues to grow. Photos in a little one’s nursery are something you can look back on when they turn 21 and remember all the little details you helped pick out for them - and I can’t image a better space than that.
3. They’re relaxed.
My newborn sessions operate at the little one’s pace. We keep things light, take breaks when needed, and nothing is better for my clients than to be in the comfort of their own home if they need to feed or change their little one, or even grab a drink or snack themselves. Everything is right there, and it helps take the stress of packing everything up and moving locations off of your shoulders.
Now that I’ve let you in on my thought process, take a look at all of this in action! While I’m usually behind the lens watching these two work their magic at City Farm Catering, I was so thrilled to document their first family portraits and their best creation yet. Take a peek!
